German star close to Liverpool deal at €10 million plus
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez may have responded to Sir Alex Ferguson's remarks with a massive counter attack, but the fact is he sees his side's vulnerability and is determined to fill the voids.
News from Germany, which has been backed up by reports in the British media, suggest that the Merseysiders are closing on signing Brazilian player Renato Augusto.
The Bayer Leverkusen right midfielder should cost between £10-15 million, and if signed, he would be the 4th Brazilian at Anfield, after Lucas, Fabio Aurelio and Diego Cavalleri.
There maybe issues about Augusto's work permit though, and financial issues could also delay the deal until the summer transfer window.
