OFFICIAL: Augusto Commits Long-Term Future To Bayer Leverkusen


A whole host of Europe's top clubs will have been disappointed to learn that up-and-coming Brazilian winger Augusto has inked a banner new deal with Bayer Leverkusen...

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Augusto has agreed a new long-term contract with the Bundesliga title hopefuls.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has signed up to stay until June 2014 after establishing himself as an important member of the squad.

"It was a clear sign to all that we plan for Augusto to play a big part in our future," trumpeted Bayer sports director Rudi Völler.

"We made sure that there will be no release clause for the first three years of the contract," added the club's general manager Michael Reschke.

Augusto, who has been repeatedly linked with the likes of Liverpool, Juventus and Inter, arrived for just €5 million from Flamengo last summer and has been outstanding down the wing for Leverkusen helping them stay thick in the hunt for the Bundesliga title.
