Agger questions Rafa snub
Daniel Agger believes he deserves to be playing on a more regular basis for Liverpool.
The Danish centre-half is currently embroiled in a long-running contract saga with the club, with no extension to his deal having been signed as yet
The ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future had led to strong suggestions that he was on his way to Italian giants AC Milan during the January transfer window.
That move never came to fruition, but speculation continues to question whether he remain at Anfield beyond the summer.
Agger insists he has no desire to leave the Reds, but is concerned that his lack of first-team opportunities may force him to look elsewhere.
"I would like to be honest and confess that I am disappointed not to be playing regularly. It is difficult to accept and I can't go on like this," he told Sporten.dk.
"It's never nice for a footballer to not play regularly. That is something I will not hide.
"But my situation at the club is that he (Rafa Benitez) doesn't want to let me play.
"So far I have opted to stay and wait for my chance and to fight for my place.
"I feel I am good enough. Therefore, it irritates me when I don't play.
"I am waiting for the chance to play a number of matches and to show that I am good enough."
