The linesman whose error allowed Jose Bosingwa to escape unpunished with a kung-fu kick on Yossi Benayoun has been axed.
The Daily Mail says Mo Matadar has been dropped from Barclays Premier League duty this weekend and sent to run the line at the League Two clash between Grimsby and Exeter.
Matadar was only a matter of inches from Bosingwa when he sank his studs into Benayoun's back but awarded a free-kick to Chelsea because the Liverpool winger was obstructing play in order to waste time.
The fact that he saw the incident but failed to act prevented the Football Association from charging Bosingwa with violent conduct.
