Robinho praise for ferdinand and vidic
Robinho is full of praise for Manchester United Football Club’s Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
Speaking of Manchester City’s need to bolster their back four in the summer, the Blues ace would love a paring such as Ferdinand and Vidic at Eastlands.
“It is important to have great attacking players, but all world-class teams are built from defence,” said the increasingly outspoken Robinho.
“When people think of Milan they think about Kaka and Andrei Shevchenko — but could they have done it without Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta?
“If we look more locally, Manchester United look so safe with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand and that is what we must aspire to.
“It is exciting to be linked with the best attacking players in the world but we must sign the best defenders, like we did with our goalkeeper, Shay Given.”
