United legend Praises Liverpool
RYAN GIGGS believes Liverpool are no longer a two-man team — and they are definite title contenders.
The Manchester United winger came off the bench as Rafa Benitez's men scored a famous 4-1 victory at Old Trafford, just days after completing a 5-0 aggregate win over Real Madrid.
Having seen his own side's lead at the top of the table cut to four points, the 35-year-old is not taking an 11th Premier League winners' medal for granted.
Giggs said: "Liverpool are a strong team and on their day they can beat anyone – not many teams win at the Bernabeu after all.
“They have genuine world class players and where once they relied on Steven Gerrard there’s now Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso and Jamie Carragher.
"There is quality all over the pitch and I don’t think there’s any doubt that this current side is stronger than previous ones.
“When they beat us at Anfield earlier this season Gerrard and Torres weren’t even playing, so they do have talent elsewhere.
“The title race is certainly not over – any little hiccup we have will give encouragement to the other teams behind us.”
