Kuyt has his Contract Extented till 2012
Just hours after Steven Gerrard signed up for a two year extension Dirk Kuyt followed his skipper's lead and agreed to stay with Liverpool until 2012.
The Dutch international who arrived from Feyenoord in the summer of 2006 had just over a year remaining on his current deal and has been the subject of enquiries from other clubs but was keen to prolong his stay on Merseyside.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's game with Fulham Reds manager Rafael Benitez said: "This is another great piece of news for the club. Dirk had one year left on his contract and we were keen for him to stay. He is a player with great quality who has a big part to play in our future and we are delighted to have reached an agreement.
He added to Liverpoolfc.tv: "To have announced new deals for Steven and Dirk on the same day shows how hard everyone is working and that we are moving forward quickly as a club. These are very positive messages and I am very happy."
