Liverpool have placed a £15 million bid to land Portsmouth defender Glen Johnson.
Johnson (24) was earlier with West Ham and Chelsea.
Glen Johnson is one of the best right back's in the Premier League and a player that definately would strengthen the Liverpool defence.
Benitez knows that his big headache is how to build a defence that can be solid and not let the team down in the crucial periods of a game.
Liverpool would if they had been better defensively this season been playing for trophies, and not be settled as second best.
