Babel wants to quit Liverpool

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel wants a loan move in January to protect his World Cup
ambitions unless manager Rafael Benitez hands him more first-team opportunities.

Babel, 22, admits he would consider joining his old club Ajax if it improves his hopes of inclusion in Holland’s squad for South Africa.

Babel, who has been dropped since playing in Liverpool’s defeat by Tottenham, said: ‘There have been a lot of things promised, but they haven’t been followed up.
'Now we have agreed to review the situation in January.
'I think half a season at Ajax with a view to the World Cup wouldn’t be a bad idea.’
