Liverpool interested in West Ham midfielder
Rafa Benitez is looking for some creativity in the midfield where Liverpool have been lacking. So to fill that void, Rafa is interested in the West Ham ace who has earlier received interest from City as well.
"Rafa Benitez will try to exploit the uncertainty over West Ham's future by making a swoop for Scott Parker ," according to a report in The Sun this morning.
Andrew Dillon writes: "Liverpool are ready with a £6million offer for the midfielder when the transfer window opens next month. Kop boss Benitez is gambling the debt-crippled Londoners may be forced to cash in, especially if they reject David Gold and David Sullivan's takeover bid."
The Sun journalist speculates that Parker would be a good replacement for Javier Mascherano who is set to join Barcelona in the summer.
Parker was voted West Ham’s player of the season at the end of 2008/2009 and despite the Hammers struggling this campaign has performed well.
The 29-year-old midfielder was close to joining Manchester City last January and in 2009/2010 has made 14 appearances, providing two assists. Parker is contracted to West Ham until the end of the 2012/2013 season and earns over £50,000 a week.
