Origi signing imminent as player agrees personal terms

Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Lille and Belgium’s young star Divock Origi ahead of completing a summer move thought to be in the region of £10 million, according to Goal.

Origi, 19, shot to prominence in the World Cup with Belgium as he impressed for Marc Wilmots’ side, scoring a late winning goal against Russia in the group stages that secured his country’s place in the knockout rounds of the tournament.

He did well at Lille in Ligue 1 last season, too, scoring five goals in 29 matches. However, he only started 11 games and scored in four of those so he’s a good prospect.

Origi was spotted at Liverpool’s training base yesterday with rumours that he had arrived to complete a medical. Those rumours were wide of the mark but not far off as he actually turned up to discuss further terms and meet the manager, Brendan Rodgers, before making a decision on his future.

It is thought that Origi has offers from Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur but Liverpool look set to seal his transfer as he could become another on the long list of players set to join the Reds this summer.

Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert could be joined at Anfield from Southampton by Dejan Lovren while Benfica’s Lazar Markovic will take his medical with the Reds today ahead of completing a move. He’ll join Emre Can, who was confirmed early last week, joining from Bayer Leverkusen as Liverpool build their squad for next season.
