Will Spurs again hijack a Liverpool deal?

Belgium’s Divock Origi has looked pretty good at this year’s World Cup in Brazil, so of course he’s already being linked with a move to the Premier League. Tottenham are attempting to hijack Liverpool's deal for Belgium prodigy Divock Origi.

A fee in excess of £9 million has already been reach with Lille while the Reds have also agreed personal terms with the forward, but the north Londoners have made a last-ditch bid to lure him to White Hart Lane.

Belgium international Origi, whose stock has risen following his exploits at the World Cup, is set to meet with Spurs chiefs later today as they attempt to snare another player from under the Anfield club's nose.

In recent years Tottenham have trumped Liverpool to the signings of several targets, including Clint Dempsey, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Erik Lamela as well as winning the tussle between the clubs for Shakhtar Donetsk's Willian before the Brazilian playmaker eventually opted to join Chelsea.

But Liverpool remain confident that Origi, 19, will still become their fifth signing of the summer, with Benfica winger Lazar Markovic set to finalise his £20M switch to Merseyside later today.
