Liverpool defender Daniel Agger will not travel with the squad for this Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Real Madrid, after failing to recover from a back injury.
Agger joins defender Philipp Degen on the injury list, although captain Steven Gerrard returns from injury and looks set for a place on the subs bench.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez confirmed to the club’s official web site, “Gerrard will travel, Degen is still out and Agger has a problem - everyone else is fit.
“Agger will not travel because of an injury to his back.”
