Benitez set sights on double deal
Rafa Benitez looks set to sign his new contract on Monday - and has pinpointed striker Diogo Luis Santo as his primary transfer target.
The Liverpool boss is rumoured to be ready to sign after the confirmation that chief executive Rick Parry will leave at the end of season following a lengthy boardroom power struggle.
Once the deal is confirmed newspaper reports suggest Benitez will then turn his attention to Olympiakos striker Diogo, who he sees as an ideal replacement for Robbie Keane.
Though Diogo is uncapped, the Brazilian hopes to qualify for an EU passport, meaning the Reds would avoid any work permit problems.
Olympiakos would be unwilling to let their star striker leave, but Benitez will test their resistance with a £12million bid.
