Gillet to sell his stake at anfield

George Gillett is edging towards the Anfield exit.

The Liverpool co-owner, who only last week claimed he was committed to a longterm stay at the club, has appointed investment experts to scrutinise his business interests. And they may advise him to sell his 50 per cent stake in the club.

Gillett took out a £65million loan last year to secure a refinancing package and he wants to pay off that debt.

He has been in talks with coowner Tom Hicks over a possible sale of his interest in the club, directly to the Texan, or to another investor.
