Injury blow for in form Liverpool ace
Yossi Benayoun will not be fit to face Real Madrid at Anfield this week, according to reports in the English media.
The winger netted what could turn out to be a decisive goal in the first leg at the Bernabeu a fortnight ago, scoring with a header. However, a hamstring tear sustained in training on Friday looks set to keep him out of the return leg in Liverpool, according to The Times.
Defender Daniel Agger is also set to miss the game, though manager Rafa Benitez was more optimistic when it came to Alvaro Arbeloa, the right-back, and talismanic striker Fernando Torres.
"Fernando is improving but it’s still too soon to say if he’ll be fit," the Spaniard said.
"We now have two or three more training sessions before we have to make a decision. Arbeloa is much the same as Torres and we will try to push him harder over the next couple of days."
