Takeover talks still going on
The Kuwaiti investment group that have been linked with a takeover of Liverpool Football Club have revealed that discussions over a deal for a share in the club are still ongoing.
It is believed that co-owner George Gillett is looking to sell his 50% stake in the Reds and the Kuwaitis spokesman Abdullah Al-Sager revealed that his company are in discussion with Gillett's business partner Tom Hicks, owner of the other stake in the club, about the acquisition.
"We are serious and things can change. Hicks and his team are nice people and unbelievably humble," he told Bloomberg.
"We are huge supporters and we definitely want something to happen. We want to build the new stadium at Stanley Park and make the team do really well."
