Liverpool can beat City's Millions insists Kuyt
Dirk Kuyt has said that Liverpool are not afraid of Manchester City's millions, despite the signings they continue to make.
Speaking after Liverpool's 0-0 draw with St. Gallen, where Kuyt captained the side during the second half, he expressed confidence that Liverpool would finish above City this season.
"They have bought some good players but we are comfortable with our squad and our players and we are comfortable that we can play better than Manchester City this season," the striker-cum-midfielder said.
"You see what is happening there and you do think, ‘When will they stop?’ We are looking at Manchester City and who they are buying.
"Every day it seems like it is a different player who is signing but we will see what happens in the season.
"Maybe they can come in the top four but we have to make sure we finish above them because we want to go one step higher after last season."
Kuyt then went on to laud Liverpool's only major signing of the summer so far, Glen Johnson.
"Unfortunately we didn’t win any trophies last season but if we can keep the team together then the fact we have added Glen Johnson means hopefully we can go one step higher," he said.
"I think Glen showed already that he is a very good player in the Premier League and England’s national team.
"When you bring someone like him in you know you are going to get quality."
