Silva to replce Alonso at Liverpool
Can David Silva be the perfect man to replace Xabi Alonso at Anfield? Silva is no doubt a great talent. But Alonso has the experience of playing in the premier league and he has proved it last year.
It is a Mix-bag of feelings for all the Liverpool fans.Xabi Alonso was one of the Star Performers for Liverpool last season.
A deal between Liverpool and Real Madrid is likely to be concluded for Xabi Alonso later this week according to reports and the Daily Telegraph suggests the £30 million received for the 27-year-old will be outlaid on Valencia star David Silva, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United.
Real Madrid are reportedly unhappy about Liverpool’s lofty valuation, particularly given the player’s limited commercial appeal, but the Spanish clubs hierarchy realise they will simply have to meet the price or not sign him.
The money will be used to secure the long-term future of Javier Mascherano who is attracting strong interest from Barcelona. Liverpool are keen to offer the player an improved deal in order to retain his services.
The newspaper suggests Benitez will spend the rest of the money on Valencia midfielder David Silva. The Spaniard has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United but Benitez has been a long-time admirer of the player, and believes he would add additional creativity to Liverpool’s attack.
Liverpool’s interest may reignited Manchester United’s alleged desire to sign the player despite Sir Alex Ferguson recently claiming his spending was over.
