Liverpool centre-back Sotiris Kyrgiakos might not be sidelined for the four months originally suspected, according to sources in Greece.
Instead, tests on the Greek defender's knee would seem to indicate a five-week lay-off is more likely.
It had been suspected that he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during Greece's World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg on Wednesday night.
