Yossi not leaving Anfield for Manchester
Yossi Benayoun’s agent, Ronen Katsav, has insisted his client is not leaving Liverpool despite speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City.
Several of Sunday’s British newspapers have reported that the Israeli is interesting City boss Mark Hughes with speculation mounting that the Citizens will attempt to sign Benayoun in the January transfer window.
The player’s agent, however, has now responded to these reports and insisted that whilst there is interest in the 29-year-old, he is happy at Anfield.
"Naturally a player playing well at Liverpool will always have other teams interested in him," Katsav told the Israeli press according to skysports.com.
"It is a great compliment that there is interest from high level teams across Europe but Yossi is very happy at Liverpool and only in the summer agreed a new four-year contract for four more seasons."
Benayoun arrived on Merseyside from West Ham United in 2007 and whilst he is far from a Liverpool regular, he is a key member of Rafael Benitez’s squad and, impressively, bagged this third hat-trick for the club last month in the 4-0 drubbing of Burnley.
