Inter On Alert As Jenas Edges Toward Tottenham Exit

Spurs' out-of-favour midfielder wants to leave the Lane and set up camp at San Siro...

According to UK tabloid The Daily Mail, Jermaine Jenas is fed up at Tottenham Hotspur and will encourage the club to sell him to Inter Milan.

The England fringe-man has fallen down the ranks since Harry Redknapp's arrival at White Hart Lane, and was recently removed as vice-captain - a position bestowed upon him by Juande Ramos last summer.

The 25-year-old feels as though he has been treated unfairly by the new manager, especially after being made the scapegoat for Spurs' loss to Wigan Athletic recently.

Thus, the former Newcastle United player hopes to move on and kick-start his career elsewhere, and Italy looks to be the most likely destination at the moment.

Inter are thought to be very interested in Jenas, a player who has often been labelled as a chronic underachiever after failing to consistently deliver on the immense promise he showed while at St James' Park.

Jose Mourinho, the Nerazzurri boss, is familiar with the Nottingham native and seems keen to draft him in to supplement a midfield that already contains the likes of Esteban Cambiasso, Patrick Vieira, Dejan Stankovic, Ricardo Quaresma and Mancini.

There was talk that Brazilian striker Adriano could be offered up in a potential swap-deal, but that now looks highly unlikely.
