Liverpool to renew their Interest in Tuncay
Liverpool look set to renew their interest in Middlesbrough's highly-rated striker Tuncay Sanli.
The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Anfield earlier in the summer, and Benitez is back in the hunt for the striker with the Premier League season within touching distance.
A handful of other top flight clubs, including Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, have been linked with the striker over the past few months, and Stuttgart were believed to be closing in on Tuncay before a deal failed to materialise at the end of July.
Liverpool are very light up-front, with Fernando Torres lacking any serious backup at the Reds.
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has already resigned himself to losing Tuncay, although the Riverside faithful would be delighted to keep the striker, who has scored 15 goals in 67 games for the club thus far.
"We haven't had any bids for him, but while we have him we want to make the best use of him," said Southgate.
"Unfortunately we don't expect to have Tuncay beyond the end of this month."
